[x2] [solo] what's love? love is ... [x2] love is ... caught the tail of a comet, spinning me around, the tail of a comet, spinning me around [x3]

Anon. And On 01:47
he never took to romance, he wouldn't ever take a chance, tries hard not to sin, he trusts, it keeps him plugged in. he doesn't see or wanna know, he likes his supper just so, a smoke, slow inhale, the evening dims and grows pale. it can't exist if he can't see, there's no such singularity, he knows he is, he's seen the bleed, get old in anonymity. sleeps alone but stays warm, he doesn't miss the human form, doesn't even know that there's no one left at base camp. he doesn't see or wanna know the source of why the wind blows, but way off in the distance [they've] just given up resistance. it's over, all gone but he doesn't even know there's a problem, mushroom cloud so far off, what good could one little man be? he knows he is 'cause he still bleeds, get lost in anonymity.

there was a time in my life when a word like "time" didn't count, i spent my days and my nights just tryin' everything out. i learned to play in a band, i learned to talk to the girls, we practiced in a tin can, it was our own little world. we traveled near and then far, we rang up three-digit tabs, we closed down all the cool bars and left with less than we'd had. we had ridiculous days that felt like they'd never end, we found a million ways to play and hang out with friends. but then something went wrong, we graduated, and though elated, the bills just would not pay for themselves. i just need to feel that warm buzz one more time. turn up the tube amps, and let's go! now here i am in my house, the house that our money bought. and though i'm working by day, i still make music a lot. i've gone and turned 33, i've got a child of my own, my wife is understanding but thought by now i'd be grown. 'cause we keep chasing that dream, won't stop till we get it right, to just play music all day, and then play music all night. it's the best thing there is, to get on stages and act outrageous, it's just not enough to play for ourselves. i just need to feel that warm hum one more time for the rest of my life, one more time, for the rest of my life. [solo] one more time, for the rest of our lives, don't let end, one more time.

Space Bar 03:03

(x4) took forty days just to get here spent every night inside my car say hello to an old friend as i step up to the bar maybe i asked him for the wrong thing still it takes me pretty far gonna stay up here till sunday tryin' to find out who we are i'd rather be in space! (x4) you guys can have this stupid planet since you're causin' such a fuss you ride to work on machines of war but all my friends still take the bus you'll be so happy when we leave you you think ideals are outta touch but you can't change your mind and follow when you decide to come with us i'd rather be in space! Bad Good Man 02:33
i can’t see, can’t hear, can’t speak a thing, still i’m noticing. what does that mean? is this a bad dream, or am i just staying up a bit too late? can’t eat, can’t drink, can’t feel a thing, except the sting, I gotta get me clean. it’s such a hip scene, or am i just thinking of another place? you won’t believe how i’m working it now, found my angle and i, said i’m goin’ in to tear it down from the inside. you won’t believe how i’m working it now, found my angle and i, said i’m goin’ in to tear it down i can’t see, can’t hear, can’t speak a thing, what good does it bring? it left me dangling up on a high beam, or did i just climb up here to tempt my fate? can’t eat, can’t drink, can’t feel a thing, i’m left wondering, can i come clean? it didn’t kill me, or am i already gone? i could not wait! you won’t believe how i’m working it now, found my angle and i, said i’m goin’ in to tear it down, you won’t believe how i’m working it now, found my angle and i, said i’m goin’ in to tear it down

Apology 04:34
well it’s high time i apologized, for being young, and being numb, and acting foolish, and leading you on. i said goodbye much later than i should’ve, i put it off, but it only made things worse. it’s never a good thing, never a fun thing, but it’s right, when you know you can’t take it another night, and i’ve waited way too long to say “I’m sorry.” i’m sorry. well it’s high time, i apologized, for being young and stupid, and leading you on. i’m just too headstrong, thought i could hold on, but i, i guess i knew, yeah i knew that our love was already gone. i chose the wrong things, never the best things, though i was trying, i thought if i sailed on it might work itself out, but i’ve waited way too long to say “i’m sorry.” i’m sorry. this is my time to spell it out, i can’t make it up, but i hope that you’re wiser and happier now. i said goodbye much later than i should’ve, i put it off, but it only, yes it only made things worse. i did the wrong things, gave your heart wings and took ‘em away, and yet it didn’t change when you’d been betrayed, you said, “it doesn’t matter, baby, just stay, and we can make it all work out another day.” but i knew i couldn’t leave it that way, i had to cut the cords and run far away, and so now here i am eight years to the day, and all i can say is “i’m sorry.”

Rearrange 02:36
elevate, revelation, you gotta find your own salvation, don’t just believe it ’cause it’s what the power people tell you. they create devastation, the differences lost in translation, i can’t believe they try to tell us what we should be thinking. time for change, rearrange, minds enslaved, time for change evaluate machinations, evil can be disguised as peaceful nations, they spin the truth so well, they make the thoughtless masses follow. they speak of peace, but brandish weapons, they’ve fallen victim to their own deception, the world may go to hell, but not before some leave it all behind. leave it all behind, [you] gotta find a way to leave behind time for change, rearrange, my minds not enslaved, no it ain’t! time for change

about

P.H.D. is a rock band from Columbia, S.C., and it's pretty simple. We are friends that go way back—we've been playing in regional bands both together and with others for decades now (The Soul Mites, Hot Lava Monster, Moving Mercury, etc.). We wanted to get together when we could and jam. Then some songs happened. Now we've recorded a disc. And we have a couple more discs in the works. Lots of tunes to get out.

We've been compared to bands like Foo Fighters, STP, The Knack, Valient Thorr, Motorhead, and Torche, to name a few.

Thanks for checking out our debut, and help us spread the word!
